Schréder is the leading independent outdoor lighting provider in the world with a century-long tradition of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

We are pushing the limits of our business today to integrate the smart cities space.

Our ambition is to bring meaningful moments to people in public spaces at day or at night and we call this Lightability™.

In 2019, we will start creating the future of Lightability™, from Portugal to the World.

We will build a new hub of excellence in Lisbon, Schreder-Hyperion, that aims to position us amongst the global leaders of  Smart City solutions.

For this, we are building a team of over 50 highly talented people excited about making a difference.

Where we are going

Outdoor lighting: the key to making our cities smarter.

As an already existing asset, evenly distributed throughout the city, with an already established link to the electrical grid and an elevated vantage point, outdoor lighting provides the perfect infrastructure required to support smart city technologies.

We therefore accompany municipalities in establishing open and interoperable platforms that provide easy-to-integrate technologies improving the quality of life of citizens. This strategy integrates public policies, reduces operational costs whilst repurposing and transforming existing infrastructure into multifunctional interactive systems.
